How to Subscribe

SCORE is currently accepting subscription orders for the 2011-2012 academic year. Please see below for instructions on how to subscribe.

ACGME-Accredited Programs

ACGME-accredited general surgery programs that wish to subscribe to the SCORE portal for the academic year will be charged a minimum fee based on their total number of ACGME-approved categorical residents, at a rate of $100 per resident. Non-categorical residents or fellows may be added at a rate of $100 per trainee.

These programs may place a subscription order by going to the Training Programs section of www.absurgery.org. Programs must log in to place an order. Payment may be made by check (payable to the American Board of Surgery) or credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express or Discover).

Osteopathic and International Programs

Osteopathic and international general surgery programs may subscribe to the portal for the academic year (July 1-June 30) at a rate of $125 per trainee. These programs should contact subscriptions@surgicalcore.org for order information. 

For all programs, faculty and administrative staff may access the portal for free; however these users may not exceed 50% of a program's paid subscriptions. 

SCORE charges a subscription fee to offset a portion of the portal's ongoing licensing and development costs. SCORE is covering the remaining costs through contributions from its member organizations. The subscription fee includes access to all SCORE portal resources, including the ACS Surgery Weekly Curriculum, Evidence Based Reviews in Surgery, and STATdx radiologic image library.

Frequently Asked Questions

My program is not using the SCORE portal. Can a resident (or other individual) subscribe to the portal?

At this time subscriptions are being offered only to general surgery training programs; residents cannot subscribe individually. Individual subscriptions will likely be made available in the future.

What does a subscription to the SCORE portal include?

A subscription entitles a program to full, unlimited access to the portal for one academic year. Users can access all of the portal's resources, including textbook chapters, videos, STATdx radiologic image library, Evidence Based Reviews in Surgery and ACS Surgery Weekly Curriculum.

How do I access the site once I've subscribed for 2011-2012?

You may continue to use the same username/password you have been using; this is true for all current users in your program (residents, faculty, administration, etc.). If you are not currently a user, then a user ID and password will be assigned.

What happens if our list of residents changes and we have to add or drop a resident?

The program's administrative users will manage the addition or deletion of residents or other users through the portal.
